Maharashtra. India. A Saf t-shirt is born.

Each item of Saf clothing has had quite a journey by the time it gets to you, and not just because it's come all the way from India. Many people have been involved in producing it and for each one it has meant a much better standard of working and quality of life than they might enjoy in the conventional clothing industry.

This is possible because you and many other people make positive choices. By choosing ethical organic clothing you provide the market for the cotton producers and manufacturers featured in these videos. These are the people who choose to do business differently; to farm using environmentally sound organic methods, to provide decent working conditions, and to work together to build a better future for their communities through sustainable businesses.

We want to show you exactly what you're becoming a part of when you choose Saf. Below you can follow the journey that your organic garment has taken to reach you and meet some of the people who have made it with care.
See the difference for yourself..
See the entire factory process for yourself from the cutting of the organic cotton fabric, the sewing and pressing, right through to the packaging of the finished organic cotton Saf product. We want you to understand the journey your Saf clothing has taken to reach you, and for you to see how purchasing ethical organic clothing can make a real difference to all involved in the manufacturing process from start to finish.
Video One - Fabric Cutting
The first stage of factory production is cutting the organic cotton fabric into shape. This is a labour intensive job so we ensure our workers enjoy full safety protection and decent working conditions.

Video Two - Sewing
After cutting, the organic cotton is taken to be sewn. In traditional clothing manufacture the image of sweatshops is often brought to mind at this stage. At Saf we ensure no child labour is used at any stage, and that employees benefit from well lit, safe conditions and a fair wage.

Video Three - Pressing
The next stage of production is pressing. This is done in the pressing room, which can get very hot and humid, especially in a hot and humid country! We ensure that the best possible ventilation is used in our factories so that our workers don't have to suffer from this common problem.

Video Four - Inspection
Alongside our ethical and organic principals, the quality of Saf clothing is of utmost importance to us. That's why we employ people to inspect the finished product at the source to be sure what reaches you is an ethical organic garment that is of the highest standard.
